Hope everyone has had positive results this weekend. However, I am expecting a mixed bag when the emails come in (thecffsite19@gmail.com) this week. If you send me an email today, please be patient, as I will try to get to them later this evening. I have some family obligations Sunday afternoon.

Here are my notes and observations from Week 6:
Power 5 Notes
- Rutgers RB Raheem Blackshear did not play in Saturday’s game against Maryland and will reportedly redshirt this season.
- Maryland RB Anthony McFarland proved to be a good spot-start, rushing for 87 yards and 2 TDs against Rutgers. McFarland has now scored in four of five games.
- Oklahoma RB Rhamondre Stevenson has now scored a TD in five straight games without carrying the ball more than nine times in any one game. 13 receivers caught a pass in Oklahoma’s 45-20 win at Kansas and none caught more than two passes.
- Kansas RB Pooka Williams totaled over 150 yards of offense against Oklahoma and touched the ball 28 times (23 rush/5 rec.).
- Zach Charbonnet led the Wolverines with 13 carries against Iowa, so I guess it’s time to move on from any injury concerns.
- Purdue’s offense was shut down in their loss at Penn State, but freshman WR David Bell led the team in receiving for a second straight game.
- In a week in which 30-plus FBS teams had a bye, Wisconsin RB Jonathan Taylor single-handedly carried his fantasy teams with 215 total yards and five touchdowns.
- I thought it would be Racey McMath that would fill in for injured Terrace Marshall, but it was Derrick Dillon who caught four passes for 42 yards and a TD in his absence.
- Oklahoma State QB Spencer Sanders threw for 290 yards and 2 TDs against Texas Tech, but he also threw 3 INTs and took 7 sacks. Although I can’t see the Cowboys making a switch to Dru Brown, I’m nervous for his fantasy owners. WR Tylan Wallace topped the 80-yard mark for the sixth consecutive time this season. RB Chuba Hubbard topped the 150-yard rushing mark for the fourth time this season.
- Texas Tech Jett Duffey will get quite a few waiver looks after throwing for 424 yards and 4 TDs in the Red Raiders’ 45-35 win against Oklahoma State. WR TJ Vasher had his first 100-yard receiving game of the season.
- Boston College QB Anthony Brown left Saturday’s game with a knee injury. Dennis Grosel replaced Brown and threw three TD passes. RB AJ Dillon posted his fourth straight 100-yard rushing game.
- Louisville WR Chatarius Atwell has at least 17 fantasy points in three straight games (PPR formats).
- Iowa State RB Johnnie Lang carried the ball 16 times for 72 yards and 2 TDs against TCU. Lang has scored 2 TDs in back-to-back games. QB Brock Purdy has thrown at least 2 TD passes in four of five games and has scored 5 rushing TDs in the past three games.
- TCU RB Darius Anderson scored in his fourth consecutive game and WR Jalen Reagor had his best statistical game of the season, catching four passes for 69 yards and 2 TDs.
- Virginia Tech looked like a different team with Hendon Hooker at quarterback, as he threw 3 TD passes in the Hokies’ win at Miami, and added a fourth on the ground. TE Dalton Keene showed why we had him ranked in the Preseason Fantasy Guide, catching 5 passes for 73 yards and 3 TDs. It would be nice to see him resurface as a consistent fantasy option going forward.
- And while we are on the topic of changing quarterbacks, how about N’Kosi Perry? 28-of-47 for 422 yards and 4 TDs, leading a furious Miami comeback, which fell short after the defense gave up a late TD.
- Texas QB Sam Ehlinger has now accounted for four TDs in four of five games this season. RB Keaontay Ingram got banged up in the win at West Virginia and RB Roschon Johnson carried the ball 21 times for 121 yards.
- West Virginia WR Sam James has caught at least 5 passes in every game this season.
- Baylor WR Tyquan Thornton has topped the 90-yard mark and scored a TD in back-to-back games. WR Denzel Mims had his streak of three straight 100-yard receiving games snapped and finished with 83 yards on five catches.
- Kansas State Dalton Schoen has caught a TD pass in three of four games.
- Minnesota QB Tanner Morgan kept his hot hand at throwing TD passes by tossing 3 TDs in the win over Illinois. He has thrown at least 3 TD passes in three straight games. However, he only passed for 155 yards, as the running game totaled 333 yards against the Illini.
- Illinois RB Reggie Corbin’s three-game scoring streak came to an end in the loss at Minnesota.
- Auburn WR Seth Williams has caught a TD pass in four of five games and has gone over the 70-yard mark in back-to-back games. RB JaTarvious Whitlow has carried the ball at least 17 times in five of six games this year.
- Florida QB Kyle Trask has thrown two TD passes in three consecutive games. RB Lamical Perine has now scored in four of five games and WR Freddie Swain has scored in three consecutive games.
- North Carolina WR Dyami Brown still does not have a 100-yard receiving game, but he has scored in five of six games.
- RB Jordan Mason remains Georgia Tech’s only fantasy-relevant player, scoring in four of five games.
- Missouri QB Kelly Bryant left Saturday’s game against Troy with a knee injury and I’ll assume we will get an update within the next 24 hours.
- Nebraska QB Adrian Martinez and WR JD Spielman left Saturday’s game against Northwestern with injuries and initial reports indicate both with be questionable for the Cornhuskers’ upcoming game against Minnesota.
- Northwestern RB Isaiah Bowser did not play against Nebraska on Saturday and wonder if there are any conversations going on behind the scenes about him taking a redshirt this season…it seems like the 2019 thing to do.
- No Laviska Shenault was a good thing for Tony Brown’s fantasy owners. Brown caught 10 passes for 141 yards in a 35-30 loss to Arizona. Related thought: Why wasn’t Shenault getting those looks when he was healthy earlier this season.
- Georgia WR Larry Cager has caught a TD pass in three consecutive games. RB DeAndre Swift has not rushed for 100 yards since the opener, but he has totaled 100 yards of offense in three consecutive games.
- Tennessee WR Jauan Jennings has caught a TD pass in four of five games.
- Ohio State RB JK Dobbins has rushed for at least 140 yards in four of the last five games and has topped the 170-yard mark in three of the last four.
- In 1.0 PPR formats, Michigan State WR Darrell Stewart has topped the 18-point mark in four of his last five games.
- Even though Ole Miss RB Scottie Phillips ran for 62 yards and a TD in the Rebels’ 31-6 win against Vanderbilt, his 20-carry days could be over with the emergence of Jerrion Ealy, who has at least 60 rushing yards in three of the last four games and has scored in three of the last four.
- Duke RB Deon Jackson has become incredibly more important to the Duke offense with Brittain Brown out for the year. Jackson has totaled over 100 yards of offense in back-to-back games and has scored in three straight.
- Pitt WR Taysir Mack has at least 80 yards receiving in four straight games and has scored in back-to-back weeks. Teammate Maurice Ffrench has caught at least 6 passes in every gam this season and has hauled in 8 passes in four of the last five.
- Oregon RB CJ Verdell has not scored a TD since the Ducks’ Week 2 game against Nevada and teammate Travis Dye has not scored at all in 2019.
- It was quite obvious that RB Artavis Pierce will get most of the work in the Beavers’ backfield, especially with Jermar Jefferson only gaining 9 yards on 5 carries. WR Isaiah Hodgins has been one of the top fantasy receivers of 2019, topping the 100-yard mark three times and scoring in all five games.
- UCLA RB Joshua Kelley has carried the ball at least 20 times in three straight games and has scored in three straight games.
- Well, Richard Newton was getting the bulk of the work in the Washington backfield, but a nasty looking knee injury should, SHOULD, make things a little clearer in the Huskies’ backfield.
Group 5 Notes
- Wesley Kennedy made his first appearance of the season for Georgia Southern and carried the ball high times for 52 yards and a TD. JD King carried the ball 22 times in the win over South Alabama and has now scored in back-to-back games.
- South Alabama WR Kawaan Baker caught more than 2 passes in a game for the first time since Week 1 and has now scored in three of six games. I’m not high on Baker’s future value because the offense looks very inefficient. The Jaguars only had four first downs against Georgia Southern Thursday night and were 0/10 on third downs.
- Temple QB Anthony Russo has really fizzled out since throwing at least three TDs in the first three games of 2019. He only accounted for one touchdown in two games against Georgia Tech and East Carolina.
- Michael Warren rushed for a season-high 133 yards in Cincinnati’s 27-24 win over UCF.
- UCF WR Gabriel Davis has topped the 100-yard receiving mark in three straight games and has reached the 150-yard mark in two of the last three.
- New Mexico QB Sheriron Jones replaced starter Tevaka Tuioti and led the offense to 21 points after the Lobos fell behind 26-0 at San Jose State. RB Ahmari Davis has rushed for at least 95 yards in four of five games, but had an issue holding onto the ball Friday night.
- San Jose State WR Tre Walker has caught at least six passes in three straight games and has topped the 130-yard mark twice.
- Utah State RB Jaylen Warren did not play against LSU after leaving last week’s game with an injury.
- Add Tulane RB Amare Jones to your watchlist. He has now scored in three of five games this year.
- Army RB Connor Slomka has scored in three consecutive games.
- South Florida QB Jordan McCloud has accounted for at least 4 TDs in tow of his last three starts, but those starts were against So. Carolina State and UConn. Jordan Cronkrite ran for 148 yards against UConn, but buyer beware. Slot WR Bryce Miller has some value now that Johnny Ford has been indefinitely suspended.
- I identified UConn RB Kevin Mensah as a good one-week addition, especially with so many teams on byes, but he is strictly a spot starter based on the matchup.
- After accounting for at least 3 TDs in three games this season, Eastern Michigan WR Mike Glass underwhelmed in Saturday’s game at Central Michigan.
- Central Michigan RB Jonathan Ward had his third 100-yard rushing game of the season and has totaled over 200 yards of offense twice this year. WR Kalil Pimpleton had his second 100-yard receiving game and has now scored in three of six games.
- Ball State QB Drew Plitt had thrown for at least 299 yards in every game this season until Saturday. He completed only 4-of-14 passes for 34 yard in a 27-20 win over Northern Illinois. RB Caleb Huntley ran for a season-high 157 yards and scored two touchdowns. Huntley has now scored in four of five games.
- Northern Illinois RB Tre Harbison topped the 100-yard rushing mark and scored for the first time in 2019. TE Daniel Crawford has caught at least three passes in every game this season and has topped the 70-yard receiving mark three times, but still has not caught a TD pass.
- Toledo RB Bryant Koback failed to score in a game for the first time this season, but ran for 177 yards in the Rockets’ 31-24 win over WMU. WR Bryce Mitchell scored his first TD of the season and topped the 100-yard mark for the first time.
- Western Michigan RB LeVante Bellamy scored in his fourth consecutive game, but his run of three consecutive 100-yard rushing games came to an end, finishing with 70 yards on 13 carries.
- Navy QB Malcolm Perry has rushed for at least 90. Yards and 2 TDs in three consecutive games. Middle Tennessee WR Ty Lee has fewer than 25 receiving yards in three straight games.
- Ohio quarterback Nathan Rourke has not accounted for more than one TD in three of Ohio’s first five games. So much for avoiding a slow start for a third consecutive season.
- Arkansas State QB Layne Hatcher has thrown 4 TD passes in back-to-back games. WR Omar Bayless has topped the 130-yard mark in all but one game this season.
- Georgia State WR Sam Pinckney has at least 7 receptions, 80 yards, and a TD in three of his last four games.
- Memphis WR Antonio Gibson has now scored in four games and has a catch of at least 50 yards in three of them.
- UL Monroe TE Josh Pederson has now scored in four consecutive games.
- Troy WR Khalil McClain has caught a TD pass in four straight games, even though he hasn’t topped the 50-yard mark in any off the three previous games.
- Western Kentucky RB Gaej Walker posted his third 100-yard game of the season in a 20-3 win over Old Dominion.
- Rice RB Aston Walter has rushed for 100 yards and a TD in back-to-back games.
- UAB RB Spencer Brown suffered a foot injury in the game against Rice and will likely be out several weeks, Lucious Stanley will likely move into the top spot on the depth chart. Stanley carried the ball 16 times for 88 yards and 2 TDs against Rice.
- Tulsa WR Keylon Stokes has come to life over the past three games, topping the 90-yard mark and scoring at least 1 TD in all three games.
- SMU WR James Proche posted his second 100-yard receiving game of the season against Tulsa and has now scored in five straight games. RB Xavier Jones has scored at least 2 TDs in five of six games this year.
- Liberty RB Joshua Mack has been the Flames best fantasy back over the past three games. In Saturday’s win over New Mexico State, he totaled 177 yards of offense and scored a rushing TD.
- New Mexico State RB Jason Huntley has now scored in three straight games.
- UTSA RB Sincere McCormick has scored a rushing TD in three of the last four games.
- UTEP RB Treyvon Hughes has scored a rushing TD in three of five games this year.
- San Diego State RB Juwan Washington may not be playing at 100%, but he did lead the Aztecs in rushing Saturday night at Colorado State, carrying the ball 22 times for 85 yards.
- Colorado State RB Marvin Kinsey has been playing banged up and only carried the ball 6 times against San Diego State…for -8 yards. He did catch 3 passes for 33 yards in the 24-10 loss.
- Boise State’s run game was non-existent against UNLV and I don’t have a lot of confidence in their back moving forward from a fantasy perspective. WR John Hightower has caught a TD pass in three of the last for games. Teammate CT Thomas only had 2 catches for 19 yards at UNLV after catching 3 TD passes in the previous two games.
