Power 5
- Boston College QB Phil Jurkovec made his return from injury Friday night and led the Eagles to a 17-3 win over Virginia Tech. Given BC’s final three games (GT, FSU, WF), I can see Jurkovec getting some waiver wire attention.
- Utah RB Tavion Thomas has become a difference maker for fantasy owners down the stretch. Thomas has now scored in four straight games and has 8 rushing TDs in the Utes’ last two games.
- Wake Forest WR Jaquarii Roberson has topped the 100-yard receiving mark in four of his last five games, while teammate A.T. Perry has topped the 100-yard mark in each of the Demon Deacons’ last four games and he has now caught a TD pass in six of eight games this year.
- North Carolina RB Ty Chandler has scored at least 2 TDs in four straight games and QB Sam Howell has rushed for at least 98 yards in four straight. Crazy that UNC-Wake game produced 113 points and WR Josh Downs only had 4 catches for 35 yards.
- In Ohio State’s 26-17 win at Nebraska, RB TreVeyon Henderson was held out of the end zone, the first game this year in which Henderson has not scored.
- Matt Corral’s fantasy owners need the Rebels’ offense to get healthy for the final two games of the regular season (Vandy and Miss St), but I am not feeling optimistic about next week’s matchup against Texas A&M.
- Miami WR Charleston Rambo has topped the 100-yard receiving mark in each of the Hurricanes’ last three games and QB Tyler Van Dyke has thrown for at least 3 TDs in three straight games.
- Wisconsin RB Braelon Allen has rushed for at least 100 yards in each of the Badgers’ last five games.
- After rushing for at least 120 yards in four consecutive games, Oklahoma State RB Jaylen Warren failed to reach the 80-yard mark in the Cowboys’ last three games.
- West Virginia RB Leddie Brown (10-24 rushing; 2-10 receiving) had his worst fantasy performance of the season in Saturday’s loss to Oklahoma State.
- In Saturday’s loss at Purdue, Michigan State RB Kenneth Walker III topped the 145-yard rushing mark for the third time in his last four games.
- TCU started Chandler Morris at quarterback against Baylor and the redshirt freshman threw for 461 yards and 2 TDs, while leading the team with 70 rushing yards and a TD. The Horned Frogs have a matchup against Kansas sandwiched between road games at Oklahoma State and Iowa State, so I wouldn’t have him too high on my waiver wish list, unless you are targeting that Week 12 matchup against the Jayhawks.
- Arkansas WR Treylon Burks has now scored in four consecutive games and in six of the last seven.
- Iowa RB Tyler Goodson’s rushing TD in the Hawkeyes’ 17-12 win at Northwestern was his first rushing TD since the September 18 matchup against Kent State.
- Tennessee WRs Velus Jones and Cedric Tillman have caught a TD pass in four of their last five games. QB Hendon Hooker has thrown at least 3TD passes in four of the last five games.
- Kentucky WR Wan’Dale Robinson has caught at least 8 passes in four straight games.
- Alabama WR Jameson Williams has totaled at least 100 yards and a TD in three of his last four games. Teammate John Metchie has caught a TD pass in three of his last four games.
- Texas RB Bijan Robinson failed to score a TD for the first time this season in the Longhorns’ 30-7 loss at Iowa State.
- The Michigan offense lost both RB Blake Corum and WR Andrel Anthony to injuries in Saturday’s matchup against Indiana. Severity unknown. This could be a fortunate turn of events for owners of Hassan Haskins.
- Oregon RB Travis Dye has now scored in four consecutive games.
- As I assumed, Tahj Washington and Gary Bryant were the most targeted USC receivers in Saturday’s matchup at Arizona State. Still, the USC offense doesn’t look very good.
- Arizona RB Rachaad White looked great in his return from injury and it’s very likely he received most of the carries because DeaMonte Trayanum’s second quarter fumble. Trayanum did not get another carry after the turnover.
Group 5
- After playing four consecutive games without scoring a TD, Ball State WR Justin Hall has scored 7 TDs in the last four games. Teammate Yo’Heinz Tyler has caught a TD pass in four of the last five games.
- Miami (OH) WR Jack Sorenson has at least 113 receiving yards in each of his last four games.
- Ohio RB De’Montre Tuggle has scored a rushing TD in five consecutive games.
- Eastern Michigan WR Tanner Knue made his season debut in the Eagles’ 52-49 win over Toledo Tuesday night and caught 6 passes for 55 yards and a TD.
- Northern Illinois RB Jay Ducker has rushed for 100 yards in three consecutive games and scored his first two TDs of the season in the Huskies’ 52-47 loss at Kent State. WR Trayvon Rudolph has caught a TD pass in three straight games and could assume a bigger role in the passing game if Tyrice Richie misses time due to an injury he suffered Wednesday night.
- Central Michigan RB Lew Nichols has rushed for at least 130 yards six times this season. WR Kalil Pimpleton has totaled 100-plus receiving yards in each of the Chippewas’ last three games and has scored a TD in three of the last four games.
- Western Michigan RB Sean Tyler has scored a TD in three consecutive games, while teammate La’Darius Jefferson has scored a TD in eight of nine games this year.
- UAB RB DeWayne McBride has now scored a rushing TD in three straight games.
- After rushing for 40 yards on 11 carries, RB Deandre Torrey was forced out of Saturday’s game at Southern Miss with an ankle injury.
- In Wyoming’s 31-17 win over Colorado State, RB Xazavian Valladay scored his first TD since the Cowboys’ September 25 matchup at Connecticut. WR Isaiah Neyor has caught 2 TD passes in consecutive games and has now caught a TD pass in five of the team’s last eight games.
- Cincinnati RB Jerome Ford left Saturday’s game against Tulsa with an injury. In a postgame interview, head coach Luke Fickell mentioned that he though Ford might give it a go in the second half, but he didn’t. That comment has me believing that Ford’s injury isn’t too serious, but still, we’ll be left wondering about his availability for Friday’s game at South Florida.
- UMass RB Ellis Merriweather topped the 100-yard mark for the fourth time this season in Saturday’s 35-22 loss to Rhode Island. This week, Merriweather should be given ‘start’ consideration once again when the Minutemen host 4-5 Maine.
- Western Kentucky QB Bailey Zappe has thrown at least 4 TD passes in four of the Hilltoppers’ last five games.
- Utah State WR Deven Thompkins has topped the 170-yard receiving mark five times this year. Teammate Derek Wright has caught TD pass in three straight games.
- Tulane RB Tajae Spears has scored a rushing TD in four straight games.
- Coastal Carolina QB Grayson McCall missed Saturday’s game with an upper body injury and he is apparently out indefinitely. Also, RB Reese White, who has an ankle injury, missed Saturday’s game at Georgia Southern.
- Marshall RB Rasheen Ali has seven multi-TD games this season. QB Grant wells has six 300-yard passing games this season, but he has only thrown 2 or more TD passes in two of those six games.
- FAU RB Johnny Ford has rushed for at least 92 yards in four of the last five games.
- Fresno State WR Keric Wheatfall has caught a TD pass in three consecutive games. Teammate Jalen Cropper has gone three straight games without a TD reception after catching a scoring pass in each of the Bulldogs’ first seven games. QB Jake Haener had 3 or more TD passes in four of the first six games, but he has not produced a 3-TD game in his last four outings.
- UNLV RB Charles Williams has scored a TD in four consecutive games.
- Old Dominion RB Blake Watson has carried the ball at least 20 times for 100 yards in four straight games. TE Zack Kuntz has caught at least 8 passes in four of his last five games.
- Houston WR Nathaniel Dell has topped the 160-yard receiving mark in back-to-back games and has caught a TD pass in three consecutive games.
- Nevada TE Cole Turner left Saturday’s game due to a concussion, which will likely make him questionable for this week’s game at San Diego State.
- San Jose State QB Nick Starkel made his return Saturday night and threw 3 TD passes in the Spartans’ 27-24 loss at Nevada. San Jose State hosts Utah State in Week 11.
- UTSA RB Sincere McCormick has rushed for 100 yards in seven of nine games and is averaging 24.7 touches per game. WR Zachary Franklin has caught a TD pass in six of the eight games in which he has played.
- After rushing for 100 yards in four of San Diego State’s first five games, RB Greg Bell hasn’t topped the century mark in the Aztecs’ last four games.
- Hawaii RB Dedrick Parson has caught at least 5 passes in the last three games.
